Welcome
to the Voluntary Registration Council Website.
The Voluntary Registration Council (VRC) is an organisation whose
sole purpose is to lead non-regulated Healthcare Science professions
who are Local Authority or NHS employees into statutory regulation
via the Health Professions Council (HPC).
Regulation via registration is extremely important as a tool for
ensuring that the public receive excellent services provided by
professionals who are held accountable for their actions. In this
way the sole aim of any registration process is to provide protection
for the public.
VRC is currently comprised of seven membership groups:
Association
of Anatomical Pathology Technologists (AAPT)
Association of Clinical
Cytogeneticists (ACC) &
Clinical Molecular Genetics Society (CMGS)
Association of Ophthalmic
Science Practitioners (AOSP)
British Association for Tissue Banking (BATB)
British Association
of Retinal Screeners (BARS)
National Association
of Cytoscreeners (NAC)
