Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I am eligible to register?

Entry criteria onto the register are listed in the guidelines provided by your modality. If you are still unsure you can then contact your modality registrar, details of whom found with the guidelines.

Who do I contact for help concerning completing my application?

Guidelines have been provided by the individual relevant professional bodies, which details step by step how to complete the registration form. If these do not answer all your questions there are also people you can contact. For basic queries about completing the form registrants can contact VRC administration by emailing admin@vrcouncil.org. If they are modality specific questions registrants are advised to contact their modality registrar, details of whom can be found in the registration groups & guidelines pages.

Where do I send my registration form?

Electronic submissions are not accepted. All forms must be sent to:

VRC Administration
Suite 4, Sovereign House
22 Gate Lane
Boldmere
Sutton Coldfield
B73 5TT

Why do I need to send two copies?

VRC administration requires two copies of all registration forms, including copies of all certificates and any additional information supplied. One copy is retained by VRC administration. The second copy is sent off to the scrutinizer for assessment. This ensures VRC always have at least one copy.

How long can the registration process take once I have submitted my application?

Once you have submitted your registration form you may have to wait 3 – 6 months. This is because scrutinizers are volunteers working for the VRC and hence also hold fulltime professional jobs. Each application has to be studied in depth to ensure no aspects are missed. It is also dependant on the number of applications received by a scrutinizer at one time.

Who do I contact if I am concerned as to why I have not received any feedback from the council yet?

For all queries regarding the length of time waiting and feedback please contact VRC administration who will happily query with the scrutinizers on the progress of you application.

Who actually reviews my application?

Each modality has several scrutinizers, volunteers, working in the relevant profession, who have been handpicked by the professional body council members Each scrutinizer has undergone training to review application forms. If a scrutinizer is unsure of an application for whatever reason it will then be passed onto the registrar of that modality for review at the nearest council meeting.

How will I know when I have been accepted onto the register?

Once registrants have been accepted onto the VRC register they will receive notification in writing, a certificate and a registration number. All accepted registrants will then be put onto the website register which is available for the general public to view.
