A Critical care technologist is a relatively new profession in
is own right. Voluntary registration is the first step on the
process towards statutory professional regulation.
Registration exists to protect the public and the voluntary register
of Critical Care Technologists seeks to extend this protection
to the public whilst affording status to the otherwise unregistered
safe, skilled and trained practitioner.
So what are the benefits of voluntary registration?
- Protection of your title. As statutory regulation takes effect
this will prevent non-qualified practioners from using your title.
- Formal recognition of the profession by the Department of Health,
NHS or the general public
- Defined standards of conduct performance and ethics
- Published written standards of proficiency
- Consistent standards
- The best way for us as a group to demonstrate our desire for
professional recognition and statutory regulation
